Weekend

Wow, it's already Wednesday.

Bloggin' sometimes sneaks away from you.

I jetted off for the weekend to celebrate my dear cousin's upcoming wedding. Living in NYC she wanted guaranteed sun, so we escaped to this fabulous boutique resort. It was delightful & FUN. And I got to see my sister who I hadn't seen since Christmas.

pic (obviously) from their website

Here is the bride dressing the part. We kept it classy.

My other cuz, her sis & MOH, did such a great job with all the details & accessories. These were delicious cupcakes from a local bakery that devoured at all hours of the night.

sister.

(who claims she didn't have a 'hurt head' all weekend.)

After a long weekend of sun & fun, I then carried on the getaway to one of my most favorite events of the year with husband, brother, & his gf...

It's a tradition like no other, and we had a blast. In fact, John says he added a nice contribution to our 'china cabinet'. That's 32 cups just in case you're curious.

It was the perfect weekend filled with lots of family quality time.

Doesn't get any better than that.

M & K are Hitched!

This post is lonnng overdue but I wanted to wait for the newlyweds (aka. LTK's fave readers) to return from their incredible honeymoon to Argentina, Uruguay, and somewhere else? fancy & fabulous.

M&K got married St. Patty's Day weekend in Charleston. And not just Charleston...but a beautiful historic plantation under the Avenue of the Oaks. We all stayed downtown on King Street which I had not visited in years. Best shopping, nightlife & food.  Not to mention how fun it is celebrating a best friends wedding with all of your friends together in one place.

Everything about the wedding was perfect from the gorgeous setting, grilled cheese station, 80's band (ohhhh yea), and just the simple elegance.

Complete Southern Charm.

Not to mention, M was super chill ;) and had the time of her life which always makes for a fun wedding.

Oh & she let us bridesmaids where any color dress and any style.

People ranted & raved over how good it looked and it just so happens everyone wore complimenting colors...yep, she knows her friends well.

Enough chat, here are the few (sadly) pics that I took.

Monday, Monday

Hi! I am home today celebrating our President's. Thank goodness. The weekend was so beyond fun that I am still exhausted today. And I think I slept 12 hours last night.

We had a blast! Can you imagine 13 girlfriends in one house at the beach?! As mentioned, this bride is fun. Tons of fun. She was the perfect bachelorette & totally rocked it all weekend.

We've made a pact that most pics would stay within the group. Don't worry we were well behaved, it's just ...what happens in Folly, stays in Folly.

Here are a few just to recap the perfect weekend.

Notice how the pics get blurry as the night goes on....oops.

A {Grateful} Getaway

Hey friends. Hope you are having a good week. We returned late Monday night from an island wedding weekend & I played catch up at the j-o-b all day yesterday.

We were in St. Thomas, USVI celebrating one of my favorite people...Godsis! She is my godparents daughter {self explanatory, eh?} and we are 364 days a part in age & very close. She is a flight attendant & married a Pilot....fitting right? Both of which said they would never marry the opposite.

{view of paradise from our room}

It was such a special, fun weekend.

There was a slight mishap...my wonderful Godparents were robbed & held at gunpoint in the gated house they rented. Horrible. Luckily, they are safe & alive and only material {replaceable} things taken, but we are so fortunate they were ok and grateful they are alive, hence the post title.

Here they are looking gorgeous, happy, blessed, and content.

It was a perfect wedding and everything was absolutely gorgeous. Love you Godsista & thank you for letting us share in ya'lls special day!

Recap: California

Hi, Hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend.

{Thank you to all the brave people who have sacrificed their lives for our daily freedom}

**********************************************************

Cali was a BLAST.

The weather was beyond perfect....68 and breezy (hello good hair & non shiny faces).

We did as expected & over indulged in all. The eating, drinking & shopping.

I forgot my flippin' camera charger (insert louddd frustrating sigh) so the smart phone had to pull through.

Sorry for the horrible pics, but it's a glimpse of our girls getaway to Sunny Cal!

{morning view from hotel room}

My fave restaurant was The Ivy. Not only for it's location & frequent celeb sightings, but the patio is awesome and the decor looks like something right out of the South.

Another favorite was Shutters. Right on the beach in Santa Monica, the view is perfect and the food is delightful.

Would highly recommend The Huntley. Great location right across from beach and in the heart of shopping and good eats. Their restaurant, The Penthouse, was tasty too for a quick snack and has a rooftop view of Santa Monica.

As for sightings, we saw Brittany Pierce from Glee and Gilles Marini from Brothers & Sisters, both of whom look exactly as they do on TV.

{This pic is so disturbing i had to post!}

All in all, fabulous trip and I highly recommend Santa Monica. We loved everything about it!

*I'm well aware (& reminded) of how much I wear this shirt!*

Now back to the grind. Hope you enjoyed a nice getaway or some good R&R with family & friends.
